Universal wifi adapter WNCE2001

Hi All

Have watched some youtube videos and read description but before I buy this can someone help please.

I have a router in house and wanted to extend its wifi. By ethernet. So I thought this may be the ideal product.

I do not want to connect the adapter to a TV downstairs for wifi etc.

I want to plug an ethernet adapter into the back of my router and then plug this ethernet cable into the WNCE2001 and put it somewhere in my house for better wifi coverage. I cannot move my router.

Will this product do this ?

Thank You

Karl

  • Hi again after doing some research......

I think what I need is a wifi extender with access point.

Do not think this product acts as an access point.

    Would that be right?

    Thank You

      Hi KarlBradley,

The device is a wireless receiver only and will not broadcast wireless signal. You can make wired device go wireless using the adapter.

        Hi sorry for delay.

So I want to run a cable from my fibre optic router (which has really bad wifi) to an access point near the middle of the house that is going to give out a really good wifi signal.

What Netgear access point would you suggest please? I am not internested in a router and trying to configure it as an access point I just want something very simple to set up.

I cannot move my fibre optic router and even if I could I would not as the wifi signal is so bad.

Also the cable I use would this be an ordinary ethernet cable, from an ethernet port on my router to the access point or does the access point have a different input for the cable?

        Many thanks

        Karl
