Wifi Adapter A6100 losing connection - Windows 10
After initially installing the adapter, it worked fine with good connection and speed without being disconeected on the first day of me using it. After I turned off my computer and turned it back on the next day I noticed that i was semmingly losing connection to my router periodically, as my download and upload would drop to .5M bps at times, before recovering aout 10 seconds later. I tried to see if it was a problem with the router, however other computers and devices such as smartphones and tablets are not having the same issue, and neither is the Xbox that I own. I have tried many solutions and looked for help on many different sites, however I have not been able to fix the issue. My computer basically works fine, with very high download and upload speeds at around 400-500M bps for 20 seconds, then drops to 1-10M bps for 10 seconds, and contines cycling like this for as long as I have the computer running.
Some solutions I have tried:
1. Reinstalling the drivers that came on the disc
2. Updating the drivers to the drivers found on the Netgear support site
3. Removing the drivers and reinstalling them through the disc
4. Removing the drivers and reinstalling them through device manager
5. Applying as much power as I can into the adapter as it needs
6. Turning off the computers ability to shut off the adapter to conserve power
7. Plugging the adapter into different USB ports at different locations on the computer
If anyone has any more solutions I could try or if you have had this same experience and have fixed it before, please respond.

Hi brandt08,
Uninstall the device and reinstall it using the standalone driver instead of the driver with Genie. If still the same, try to install the device on a different computer.

Thanks James. After uninstalling and reinstalling with the stadnalone driver, the device continued to have the same problem. I have also tried to install a driver for it from Mediatek, although that did not fix the issue either. I am currently unable to try installing it on a different computer, but will update you on if that fixes the problem when i have done so.

Hi brandt08,
Looking forward for your update after using a different computer. Make sure it is the same Windows 10 OS.
