wifi device not found during install

Installation went well, to a point. Found upgraded software and downloaded it via a wired connection. .  During final part of install; prompted to install the adapter.  "Adapter not found"..  Plugged in adapter and the OS found it and installed drivers.  Device visiable in Device Manager, but not visable to NETGEAR Genie.  Tried several USB ports; installing in safe mode, disabled Zone Alarm. Disabled Microsoft Firewall. Rebooted. Shut the computer off over night.  No change in problem.

Checked WLAN service; set to automatic and running. Cleaned out the registry of one partial installation and reinstalled with same result. It appears that the adapter is not enabled, dispite the display in the adapter configuration screen in Network and Sharing.

  • Hi mrfedora,

Have you tried to install it on a different computer and check if the same problem?
