Windows 10 (A6100 A6200 A6210) Installation Heads Up
As a heads up, DO NOT install Netgear's driver package for your A6xxx device on Windows 10. It permanently removes Windows 10’s ability to access the WiFi Connections list. Instead, use the defa...

For problems with the windows 10 included driver with the a6210 (e.g. no 5ghz networks visible) just use the latest driver from mediatek (5.1.21.0).
It is the newer version of the driver that came with windows 10 and with it i can join my 5ghz wlan, which wasnt able with the old one!
The chip in the A6210 is a Mediatek MT7612U.

Jan 29, 2016I'm in the same boat you are - I just bought this adapter this week and have been using it under windows 7 without any issue but was planning to update to Windows 10 this weekend. And now I'm shocked after reading through this whole thread and lots of Google searching it appears that Netgear has provided no solution to this device working under Windows 10!
What a shame. I'm planning to return it this weekend and get one of the well reviewed ASUS adpaters, unless anyone has an 11th hour fix that is actually stable?

The bright side of this is that you can easily pick up really cheap ($13) refurbished adapters from all of the Windows 10 people returning theirs.

Yes, great for Win 7 users...bad for Win 10 users. :womansad:

Out of respect for Netgear, I won't link to any specific products, but since this has been an open issue for quite some time, I started searching for alternatives. Before you opt for a refurb, look into the Edimax line. All specs and price considered...mind blown. I'm going to clean install Windows 10 tonight, however, and may end up sticking with the A6100 if I can't return it.

A clean install of Windows 10 did not resolve the driver issue for A6100, for the betas or the latest official drivers. I've been burned by the A6100 and the R6100 now. Lesson learned. Bye, Felicia!
