Windows 10 (A6100 A6200 A6210) Installation Heads Up
As a heads up, DO NOT install Netgear's driver package for your A6xxx device on Windows 10. It permanently removes Windows 10’s ability to access the WiFi Connections list. Instead, use the defa...

For problems with the windows 10 included driver with the a6210 (e.g. no 5ghz networks visible) just use the latest driver from mediatek (5.1.21.0).
It is the newer version of the driver that came with windows 10 and with it i can join my 5ghz wlan, which wasnt able with the old one!
The chip in the A6210 is a Mediatek MT7612U.

Hi,
I also had the unfortunate luck of installing the Netgear drivers during my upgrade to Windows 10 and had issues with wifi freezing up the system. Wish I would've seen this thread before upgrading to Win 10.
Anyway, the way I fixed this problem was by rebooting my system into SAFE MODE. Once in SAFE MODE, I went into the DEVICE MANAGER, looked for the A6210 adapter under NETWORK ADAPTERS, right-clicked on the adapter and uninstalled. I also checked the box to uninstall the drivers for this adapter. Once the adapter was uninstalled from the system, I rebooted back into Windows with the adapter still connected. As soon as I got back into the Windows 10 desktop, I was able to click on the Wireless icon in the system tray with the system would no longer freezing up, and finally showing me a list of available networks to connect to.
The problem I am still having though, is that I can only see the 2.4GHz networks and not my 5GHz network which I was previously using with no problems in Windows 8.1 before the upgrade.
Does anyone know how I can fix this so that the WiFi adapter can see and connect to the 5GHz networks without installing the NETGEAR drivers that cause Windows 10 issues?
Thanks

I do not have intel anything, would this be the same case for an AMD set up? I already installed the drivers and I can see connections, but I am constantly losing WiFi connectivity until I re-seat my USB dongle. This is the furthest I have been able to get while connected... and I am tempted to connect via an ethernet cable strewn across my apartment. I must say I am very disappointed that I can't connect to my Netgear router with a Netgear dongle which are both supposedly "Windows 10 compatible." I am beyond the length of time for phone or live chat, so I am tempted to buy some other companies hardware that is compatible with Windows10 rather than pay for support.

Try removing your keyboard and putting it back in.

Sorry. I do not have a solution, but I wanted to provide a little more info for you since Netgear seems to have delegated all of their product support/responsibility to their community/forum members. I have an A6200 and upgraded straight from Win 7 to Win 10. I was very disappointed with my Win 10/A6200 performance so I tried reinstalling the A6200 driver (eventually tried all of them). This completely disabled my A6200 to the point that the Netgear Genie or Microsoft WLan service could never initialize it (the blue light would never come on again). I tried everything listed in this thread with no luck. Eventually I had to rollback to a restore point before when I reinstalled the Netgear drivers The Netgear drivers completely disabled the A6200 and nothing I could do would restore functionality. However, once restored, I do have 5Ghz functionality. The loss of your 5Ghz seems to be something attributed to Netgear's Win 8.1 driver. Other's seem to be having the same problem. I am using Netgear driver version 6.30.145.30, and I do not think I am having to use Win 7 or Win 8.1 compatibility mode. Although, the upgrade to Win 10 disabled/removed the Negear Genie which I had always used in the past with Win 7. In Win 10 the WLan service seems to be the only way we can connect to the A6200. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much this worked for me. I had the same issues, no response from wifi control etc. In addition I made sure to un-install the software for the adapter before proceeding to safe mode and I had the adapter plugge in while inistalling driver in Device Manager.

Also noticed this problem this morning, the first time I have tried to run a back up my ReadyNas since my main computers upgrade to Windows 10.
"To assist in the most rapid and complete solutions Netgear engineers would be most grateful if people could provide some specific information. This thread is now somewhat confused as it deals with three different adaptors, and each has its own driver.
Please answer as much of the following as possible in a reply to this thread;
- What model of adaptor are you having issues with? A6200
- Is the Win10 install a fresh install or an upgrade? Upgrade
- If an upgrade, from what version of Windows? Win 7 64-Bit Home Premium
- What is the H/W model of the PC/tablet/netbook? Custom built PC - Asus M4A89GTD Pro USB3 + AMD Phenom II X4 965BE
- What driver version are you attempting to install? 1.0.0026-1 both standalone and full
- Did you try installing with AV / Firewall disabled? Avira Firewall enabled
- What error messages do you see? none
- If no error messages what failure of functionality do you see? network connection drops and WiFi logo disappears, back up stops
I have been using this A6200/D6300/RNDU4000 combination for over a year, and the D6300/RNDU4000 for even longer. I have resorted to plugging in a D-Link N300 usb adapter (always good to have a spare lying around) but would be really keen to get back to using the A6200 so I can take advantage of the Wireless AC connection. I also have had no problems with the another computer that connects to the D6300 that uses its own WiFI card (ASROCK H97 M-ITX/AC).

Just jumping in with a *me too* post.
Been having trouble with Win10 an A6210 for months now. Mostly corrupted downloads and an inability to download any game from steam (pauses/corrupts).
General web browsing does not seem to show any issues, but recently I attempted to download Fallout3 from steam but had major issues downloading it without pauses and corruption. I worked with Steam support who could find no problem. As soon as I switched to ethernet all my troubles went away. Now that Fallout4 is out, I attempted that with the latest A6210 Win10 drivers from Netgear, but no joy - again corrupt downloads. Back to ethernet again now and all is working as expected.
I had thought this issue would have been solved by now.

I reinstalled Beta version (1.0.0.35). Router (R6300v2) is set with different SSIDs for 2.4 and 5. Connected to 5 only by entering password (not WPS). Been a few days and seems stable.
