WNCE 2001 not resetting

My wireless adapter has stopped working and all I now have is a flashing green power light and a permanent green light for the LAN when connected to the device.

 

I have tried to reset the device using a paperclip and holding down for 5 seconds, but nothing happens at all.

 

I connected the device to my MacBook via ethernet cable but there appeared to be no connection?

 

Any ideas?

      Still nothing happening, not sure if I'm following the instructions carefully though.

       

      Would somebody be able to explain the processes in clearer detail for those of us with limited IT/network knowledge?
