WNCE3001 Bonjour connectivity issue

I have a WNCE3001 connected to a HP Printer. The printer works perfectly when wired to the network. When connected to the WNCE3001 it looses bonjour connectivity within a few minutes from cold boot, never regaining it, unless via a full network reset or reboot.

This prevents the printer being used as a scanner.

Network config:
* printer: HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276n

manual IP 192.168.1.120, gw 192.168.1.1, IP outside of DHCP pool

* WNCE3001 adapter
static IP 192.168.1.110 via MAC address matching from main router, IP address outside of DHCP pool

Firmware Version V1.0.0.50_1.0.35

Hardware versione V1

Originally the adapter worked fine. Now I can't reliably connect to the printer except via fixed IP address (which prevents scanning services which on Mac OS X are available via bonjour resolution)

  • bumping the topic back looking for feedback. any take?

    • I'll take a stab.  Bonjour uses IP Multicast, which is not handled well by many Wi-Fi devices.  Go onto your Wi-Fi router look for any settings for controlling multicast.  Some models have a multicast rate setting.  Others have settings to block multicast on Wi-Fi.  Still others may only have an IGMP Proxy enable/disable.  Try tweaking them.
