AC1200 wifi extender
I inherited this extender from my sister, who passed last year. I am trying to use it, but I am prompted for the password she used, which I dont have. Can anyone tell me how to change the password? Netgear support wont tell me anything without purchasing a support package that costs more than the unit itself! Thanks in advance for your help.

You need to look more carefully at the device for a model number. AC1200 does not appear to be the model number of a Wi-Fi extender. The AC1200 is more of a marketing label. Possibly a model EX6110, could be something else.
When you get the model number, go to the downloads section above and download the manual (no charge). There should be a reset button that will allow you to start the setup process from scratch and input your own password.

EX6110.
I was able to use the reset button, problem now is theres no WPS button on my Spectrum router. And there is no prompt to create a new password for the extender, I see "connected, no internet", when I log on to it.

I also got this message:
Unable to connect
An error occurred during a connection to (the dot net address I was told to go to, for some reason the forum will not let me put that in the post, very strange)
So it seems that I can connect to the extender, but its not seeing the router.
