AC750 (EX2800) WiFi Range can't be reset to establish connection with new network

I've used this AC750 (EX2800) for an existing home wifi net work for a couple of months and then upgraded the network speed with Fios. Now I have the fastest Fios router. However I was not able to connect AC750 to the new router. I've tried RESET the extender and connect it multiple times...

  • Using WPS didn't work - WPS LED light only blinks, touch the button again within 2 mins and it still blinks, never stays one;
  • Connecting to NETGEAR_EXT and visiting mywifiext.com or mywifiext.local (I'm on Mac and iPhone) didn't work either - the browser simply can't find the page.

So now I'm stuck. Both methods are not working. Any solution?

I have to say NETGEAR's free trouble shooting within 90 days does not make sense in this case. I didn't need any help when setting it up the first time, sure, but who reset their network frequently? If the extender can't be reseted it'll become a piece of garbage.

    1. what router are you trying to connect it to?

    2. what firmware is on your extender?

    3. when you factory resets, did you push and hold resets for 7-15 seconds while the extender was powered on?

    4. what error do you get when you try to connect to the netgear_ext network? Did you try different pc/laptop/devices? Or different web browsers?

      Problem solved this morning! I received the latest Verizon Router - the one that looks like a tower. I read online that on the previous rounder version Fios router there is a 'WPS' button, so I looked at the back of the new router and found a button with a link icon on it. I hold that 'link' button on the router until it starts to blink and then press the WPS button on the extender, and the connection was established right away.

      Previously, I did not know where to look for firmware on the extender since I couldn't connect to it. Pretty sure I've hold the RESET button for a long time. It restarted from red. I've used my iphone connecting to NETGEAR_EXT and try to manually type in the setting in the default browser, it says Safari can't find the page. Same thing on my iMac. I have no PC here.

      Anyway, thanks for trying to help.
