Access Point configuration issue

Question

After restoring the factory defaults on my WN2500RP, I followed the instructions for setting up as an access point. All seems to go well until I power it down after I finish configuring it and power it up in another room... the power light stays amber and the unit will not connect to&nbsp; my router.

Any ideas?

Can you connect to the router's wifi from that new room (with your phone or some other wifi client)?

I can connect to the access point via wifi, but the access point  has no connection to the internet

Aehm ... aware a network cable is required to connect the AP to the router? It's an access point, not a extender or repeater.

Yes, I am... I’m using a pair of Netgear powerline adapters to get back to my router ... but even when I configured it using a cable to the router , I still had the same issue... the power light stayed amber

I am thinking that you must have a WN2500RPv2.&nbsp; Is that correct?&nbsp; The original WN2500RP doesn't have a power led that changes from amber to green (as least it's not in the manual).

Have you confirmed that the powerline ethernet is working properly?

If yes, then I think that the next step is to do a reset of the extender, and try to set it up again.&nbsp; The amber LED indidcates that the extender isn't completing it's boot.
