Access Point Mode and One WiFi Name
I have one R7800 in my living room serving as a router. It has a wire connection to my bedroom where it connects to my old router (as an access point). Both of them works fine but I have two sets of SSID.
I'm looking to purchase a EX7700 — AC2200 Nighthawk X6 Tri-Band WiFi Mesh Extender to replace my router in bedroom. I have read the instruction here about setting up it in access point mode. However, it is stated that "Tri-band WiFi is available when your extender is in access point mode, however the MESH (One WiFi name) feature is disabled."
So I wonder when EX7700 is connected with a wired connection, would I still be able to use MESH & One WiFi name?
I saw someone else also run in to this situation but seems there is no solution yet. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hello stephen_lintc,
Welcome to the community! We have received a similar inquiry in the past regarding the EX7700. Please see my response below from a post earlier this year.

Thank you Christina. Actually I have contacted the support from Netgear the other day. They told me it is not possible to have wired connection between the router and the extender in AP mode while keeping MESH & One Wifi so I'm a bit confused now.
