I have 2 other devices, a notebook and another android that communicate just fine, but my brand new S6 will not hook up to the extender. I have reset the modem, the extender, and the phone itself. I ...

Did you get any updates from Samsung yet? I am in the same boat. All other devices I have (HP laptop, Toshiba laptop, my old iPhone connect to the WP3000RP OK /easily. I had Samsung on the phone support and they agreed it must compatibility S6 to WP3000RP ..... and my problem. They do not have a device compatibility list but maybe the extender companies do. Their final solution/ next step was ‘get an iPhone’. Great.

I may be jumping in too soon but seem to have solved the issue with my S6 connecting to the WN3000RP. Steps I took:
- accessed the extender through my connected laptop.
- copied setup as a back-up, reset to factory. S6 would still not connect.
- accessed the extender through my connected laptop again.
- turned of security off (set to none) and applied in desperation.
S6 connected immediately no issues ... and stayed connected for an hour. First time.
OK cannot leave the network with no security.
- Again accessed the extender through my LT returned the security back to Security Options (WPA2-PSK) it picked up original password again (from main router I assume) .... set applied.
- S6 connected again immediately and has stayed on for 2 hours reliably so far.
I hope that is the last of my issues.

I am having the same problem.
1. brand new galaxy s6
2. Netgear WNDR3400 (V1) - verified running latest firmware
IPv6 is Disabled (as per suggestions on this thread)
3. Netgear range extender WN3000RP - verified running latest firmware (1.0.2.64)
NOTE: SSID & password are identical for both the router & range extender so that I have seamless network handoff.
the range extender has a static IP
the security is WPA2-PSK [AES]
My iphone (4s), iPad, galaxy J5, etc. all connect just fine with the range extender and handoff seamlessly thoughout the house. My new galaxy S6 will not get internet when connected to the range extender - it connects, but no internet; after a few minutes the connection fails & drops even the local LAN.
If I go close to the router & connect directly (without the range extender), the connection is fine & stable.
I have tried:
1. both DHCP and static IP on the phone
2. network switching both on & off
none of these make any difference
I have not yet tried resetting my range extender as suggested above by Brad2; will try that soon.
Please help.
TIA!
