Cannot connect to my WiFi Range Extender EX7300 – AC2200 Nighthawk X4

Just re-installed the Netgear Range Extender EX7300.  The WPS was used to connect to my WiFi network.  The regular WiFi bands were joined to the Range Extender for both the 2.4 & 5 GHz. Operatin was done in the same room as before with the same router and that time it worked just fine.

The issue is that are not being shown at all with the ending in EXT.

I have tried several times with the same results, being none.

Here is what I did.  I did the factory reset, waited for the Router Link LED to turn green, pushed the WPS button and the same on my router, repeated the WPS operation to get both bands, Route Link turned green along with the Client Link.

Every thing looked classic, all lights were green, but nothing showed on my network.  The only positive was Extender_EXT had shown but not attached to any band and was gone after a few moments.

The method to do this is not hard but it is not working.  Need help with a suggestion on how to make this work again.

Thank you for your reply, but I can not make contact with the extender at all.  I have been trying to do that with the Android Nighthawk app which returns an Extender Not Found.

I am going through the manual and do not see your reference to a Wizard.

Could you please let me know where I can find that?

I'm not a huge fan of the app as many things can influence its function such as the router you're connected to. Or when its running mesh, you might be connected to the router and thats why you get that result.

    What router are you using?

    Modem?

A couple things you can try.

    1. connec to your main router. it should have an attached devices page or along that lines depending on device. This list should have the ip address for your extender. Use the IP address for the extender to access it.

    2. Hardwire into the extender with a laptop/desktop. Make sure to disable wireless on whatever you're using. many times the pc/laptop will keep using the wireless if its on.

    3. If you reset it, it should give you the default wireless SSID again. You can reset it, connect to the default ssid, and then go through the smart installation wizard. Keep in mind, if you set it up in Mesh, it'll use the same ssid as the router.

It is working. The instructions aren't very clear.

when you set it up with WPS and use the mesh setup (default), it uses the same name as the router's using. So you won't see a    "_ext".

If you go through the smart connection wizard (manual setup), it gives you the options of mesh setup or setting your own individual ssid's.
