Confused on EX6200v2 WiFi Extender extending 2G and 5G home networks
This is for AC1200 WiFi Range Extender, Model EX6200v2
For my new FIOS Router I have a Home-2G, Home-5G, and Home-Guest (which is 2.4G).
The WiFi Extender works fine, but their networks are Home-2G_2GEXT and Home2G_5GEXT. I was expecting to see Home-5G extended as Home-5G_5GEXT.
Some of my home devices can see all devices EXCEPT Home-5G, which leads me to believe that Home2G_5GEXT is actually extending Home2G. So I'm confused on this.
I got this soon after getting my new FIOS router, and I'm pretty sure it was working as expected, with 2G extended to 2G_2GEXT and same with 5G. But then I changed my network names on the FIOS router, and ended up with Home-2G_2GEXT and Home2G_5GEXT.
I did the WPS button thing several times but still am sitting with Home2G_5GEXT.
Hi williampeck1958,
You can try accessing the extenders' UI to verify all the wireless settings and confirm the SSID (WiFi name) of the 5GHz band. You can check page 23 of the user manual linked below.

When I connect with my phone to Home2G_5GEXT, I do not see the 5G indicator lit. So it seems to me that I'm not extending my 5G network.

Dexter, great, thank you! I logged on to www.mywifiext.net. So I see the name for the 5G network and working on changing that now. It's doing a firmware update.
Will check back after this completes.
