Don't know password for Netgear AC750 EX3700

I have Xfinity wifi, and bought my own modem-no more monthly rent. Xfinity got the new modem connected, along with the phone line-have wifi and phone through Comcast. I also have a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 smart wifi router. I am trying to extend the range of the wifi signal with a Netgear AC750 EX3700 wifi range extender. I got it linked to the modem and WPS, but when I try to connect to the extender, it says to enter password. I have tried EVERY combination of letters and numbers on the new modem, but it keeps saying wrong password. I can connect my smartphone to the Xfinity home wifi, the Netgear Nighthawk, but not the extender, because I don't know the correct password. How do I find the correct password?? Can someone PLEASE HELP ME???

    Hello 911GTR

You will have to factory reset the extender and do the setup again if the password is no longer working so hold down the reset button for 10 seconds on the extender.

  • What's the password that I need to use for the extender?
  • Could someone please tell me what password I need to use to be able to access the extender? I did the factory reset, got it linked to the WPS and router, bit when I try to connect with the extender, it tells me to enter a password, but what password do I need to use? PLEASE HELP. Thanks folks. Have a great day!

      Hello 911Gtr

That is the default login password=password and username=admin

I would make sure you hold the reset button down for at least 10 seconds while the unit is plugged in so it goes to the default settings.

  • Hey DarrenM, I hate to keep bothering you, but I did the factory reset, and held the reset button in for 30 seconds, and tried "password", "PASSWORD", "Password", and it still says incorrect password. I'm stumped on this one. Any others ideas? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks DarrenM.

Have you tried to use the wireless password that you use on you main routers network?

  • I have a Netgear Nighthawk smart wifi router, and the password is printed on a sticker on the router, but that password doesn't work. The Arris TG862G modem has a built-in router, but I don't know the password for it. I can access the Nighthawk router, butI need the extender to increase the signal distance. What's the password for the Arris modem/router? I've tried every number and letter on the back of the Arris modem/router, but no success. I'm rather frustrated-lol.

      Hello 911GTR

If your talking about the password for the setup page for arris it should be admin/password I can not really help you for its wireless password.

  • Thanks for all of your help, DarrenM. I still haven't figured it out yet. It's linked to the modem/router, and the WPS, but all I need now is the password. If you could please advise me on who to contact about the password, I would greatly appreciate it. Again, thanks for all of your help.

      Hello 911GTR

If your looking for your wireless password for the arris modem you will have to contact your ISP for help on that.

  • Okay, thanks again DarrenM. I really appreciate all of your help. Have a great day
  • But it shows on my WiFi connection options the Netgear range extender-I can connect with the Home Wifi with the Arris, just not the Netgear range extender?? I don't know?
