Ethernet Cable Preventing 2G Connection on AC1200 Dual Band WiFi Extender Model EX6120

I am trying to get my Netgear AC1200 WiFi extender model EX6120 to connect to my ethernet cable connection.

The extender shows and connects to both 5G and 2G and works just fine without having the ethernet cable connected to it.

Once I plug the ethernet cord in, the 2G network stops working, however, the 5G one works just fine.

I have a device that runs only on 2G which is why I need to enable it. Any idea on how to make it work?

Can you explain that in a  bit more detail?

What is this "ethernet cable connection"? Are you using the EX6120 in AP mode connected to a router? If so, which one?

You might get more help in the section where people talk about extenders.

Hi - yes. I am using the EX6120 in AP mode connected to Motorola MG7700 Modem WiFi Router Combo via Ethernet Cat 6 cable.

      Steps I took:

      - reset the EX6120 to factory settings

      - attempted to set it up as an AP

      - the next message I received was: "Access Denied, Description: You are not allowed to access the document you requested."

If you hardwire in the EX6120, it needs the setup on it re-ran and to be setup in access point mode.

    did you do this?
