EX2700 N300 WITH CENTURYLINK ACTIONTEC Q2000
I just purchased an EX2700/N300 to extend the range of my router. I am using CenturyLink DSL, so my modem/router is a CenturyLink Actiontec Q2000. I am getting all the green lights on my N300. I am able to log in to the Netgear Genie and see the status ONLY by connecting my pc to the N300 via ethernet. According to the Genie, the N300 is talking to the Q2000, but not to any of my devices. I have double- and triple-checked that the passwords match. I have rebooted everything in the order listed on the troubleshooting page several times. When my pc attempts the connection, it says "connected, no internet," and lists an ip of 169.254.x.x. When my phone attempts to connect it gets "Failed to obtain IP address."
Before I spend too much more time troubleshooting this, I thought I should ask if this extender will even work with a CenturyLink DSL Actiontec Q200 (Pair Bonded Wireless N VDSL2 Modem Router).
TIA for your advice.
Hi chandlerna,
Welcome to the community!
1. Most, if not all, NETGEAR extenders work with most routers. You may check with your ISP if there are any compatibility issues.
2. Does the extender show up as a connected device on the router's UI with an assigned IP?
3. Please make sure there is no MAC filtering or similar that may prevent the extender from connecting to the router.
