EX6100 Connection Issues following initial set-up
I recently purchased a second Netgear AC1200 EX6110 as the last one stopped working. The first unit worked great for the first 6 months and then started disconnecting from the router despite the green 'router' light being on.
Purchased the new second unit only a week ago. Connected to the network fine. Was able to access the internet via the extended on both my laptop and phone following the set-up. The next day I realised that my phone had not received any messages. Checked the extended and all four lights were green, but both computer and phone were saying that there was no connection. I went through the wizard set-up again. It reconnected and all was well. Went out for the day, come back and again the warning comes up saying 'no internet connection'. I turned the extender off and back on and went through the wizard again and it reconnected. This issue has repeated everytime I have used the extender. It connects for the initial time when I set it up and then it loses internet connection. It shows a green light indicating it is connected to the router and when I open the wizard up it also shows that it is connected, but there is no internet. Given this is the second unit to do this, I am thinking this is soemthing that I have not configured properly. Any help would be appreciated as it is driving me a little mad!
After many failed attempts at getting the WiFi extender to work, I ended up returning it to the store.
Swapped it over for a TP Link, which has worked perfect, so I think it is something glitchy with the AC6110 given two of them gave me this trouble. Thanks for your help with the troubleshooting :)

Problem with wifi extenders is that they're reliant on the router. They don't control the dhcp or any router. In a simplified since, they just connect back to the router and forward traffic on.
If the router isn't that great, has issues with dhcp leases, or has it own issues, those issues will basically be passed onto the extender. Since you've had 2 extenders do this, I'm inclined to think its more of a router issue causing your problems. You potentially could check on the forum or support site for your router maker to figure out the best way to setup extenders with their devices.
What router are you using?
What modem are you using?
Firmware on your extender?
Thanks plemans.
The modem/router is not having an issues with connection. When I connect straight to the modem/router there are no issues with it disconnecting.
I am using a Telstra Smart Modem/Router https://www.telstra.com.au/internet/extras/modem
I am unsure what firmware the extender has. How do I check this?
Thanks :)

the firmware version should be on your extenders status page.
If it was a single extender that had this issue, I'd be inclined to point at the extender. but when multiple devices have the same issue, its usually points to either the location its in, wifi interference, or the router.
Have you tried moving the extender closer?
Tried factory resetting the extender and re-doing your setup?
have you tried changing wifi channels on the router to a less congested channel?
