EX6130 Locked at Setup Wizard Form.

My EX6130 Wireless Extender receive an update recently, since then it's failing in many ways:

- New Extender Setup form fails and don't progress to NEXT page, whatever information I fill in it's just stuck on that form and don't advance to settings.

- The Extender is only extending and connecting to 2.4Ghz WiFi, before this update it worked fine with the 5Ghz.

- The Extender is unreachable from my main wireless network (no ping, no http setup) but it responds from inside _EXT network.

So I can't reach the settings page anymore and I can't bypass the Setup Form using /start_repeater.htm anymore.

Should I return this product to Amazon as defective? Is that a problem with the new firmware?

  • After the Factory Reset I was able to complete the Registration Form using Opera Browser.  It disconnected twice while entering the "Search for Wireless Networks" page, but leaving the web page open and reconnecting to NETGEAR_EXT access point did work out and I was able to finish the setup.

As soon it got online it told me again a new firmware update was ready (the last firmware update got me into this problem), I took the time to annotate my current firmware version and what the new version features:

    ==

    Firmware Version: V1.0.0.24_1.0.14

    ...Error on registration setup form.

    New Version V1.0.0.28_1.0.16
    1. (1) Fixed security issues.
    2. (2) Add new registration flow.

I updated the firmware, I will wait for tomorrow when the extended network users will tell me if everything is back to normal.

Thanks FURRYe38 for your help and support here, I appreciated.

Is the FW up to date?

What browser are you using to walk thru the setup? Try IE11, FF or Opera.

What is the mfr and model# of the host router?

Yes, the problem started after the last FW update.

      Opera and Chrome.

Netgear Nighthawk R8000 AC3200 with updated firmware.

I will try with Internet Explorer/Edge and see if it makes any difference .
