EX6150 - 5 Ghz - On which channels can it connect on router ?
Hey Guys, I have bought a Linksys RE6400 Extender and I discover that it cannot connect on my router over others channels than 36-48. It is a problem for me because the channels 36-48 are stupid...
The EX7000 as an Access Point is a great idea. and, you can also use the ethernet ports on the EX7000, that woud resolve your problem, or depending on the type of switch you have, just plug the EX7000, into one of our switch ports, configured as an Access Point.

First, thanks for your time.
I agree with you on the part that an extender, should extend the base router signal, but... my knowledge is based only on what I have see on Linksys and I may be wrong.
On Linksys Extender, it is more like a bridge.
The Extender connect itself as a client on 5Ghz on the router and create a new SSID on 2,4Ghz (generally BASESSID_EXT).
And it may also connect also itself as a client on 2,4Ghz on the router and also create a new SSID on 5Ghz (ex. BASESSID_5G_EXT).
It is called "CrossBand" feature.
You may understand that in that case, I'm able to change the channels on both new SSID.
As far as I found, Netgear use the same technology called "FastLane" to improve the Bandwidth.
But something disturbs me. On Netgear product you make the difference between "Access Point" and "Repeater"...
Repeater means sense on what you explain.

I think that I have to look after another Netgear product that I have not enough take time to look after...
EX7000 AC1900 WiFi Range Extender.
On my Floor +1, I have an RJ45 cable to my Desk on which I have a Switch 5 ports.
May be it is the right solution... replace the switch per the EX7000, and convert it as Access Point + Switch.
I allready look after the documentation and the EX7000 seems to be able to use the channel 153 (http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/EX7000/EX7000_UM_21dec2014.pdf - page 29).
Is someone may gave my a screenshoot on available channel ?

The performance will be better in that case.
I'll go in that way and it will be logic in the sens of my Synology Router is a 1900AC like the Netgear too.
