Ex7500 not working

Plugged extender into a wall outlet, was able to successfully connect it to my home wifi, and was able to connect my phone and laptop.I then went on to my laptop, went to www.mywifi..... started the software update, and the extender then restarted, and when it came back on, the laptop didn't reconnect. I tried to manually connect it, and the wifi from the extender wasn't showing, and the 2.4ghz and 5ghz lights weren't on. I then did a factory reset, and now the 2.4ghz and 5ghz lights aren't on at all..

  • Hi Trayce13,

2.4 and 5GHz LEDs will turn ON only when any of your device is connected to that specific band of extender. So try to connect any of your devices to it and check. Do note that SSID of your Router and extender will be same by default since One WiFi name feature is enabled. So, you cannot differentiate them by SSIDs, but can confirm only by LED status and connected devices on extender. If you have trouble connecting to extender, I would recommend you to turn wifi OFF and turning it ON on the devices which you are attempting to connect to the network. Also, you may try forgetting the network and reconnect to it which should help you.

  • I'm experiencing exact the same problems. Everything properly configured, connection with router working. See my iphone appearing in the GUI of the EX. However no internet connections possible. Tested the connection with router on the location without the EX and the speed is OK. Why is it not possible to make external connections. My router is a Netgear R7500

      Hi Boudie,

      1. What is the firmware version of the extender?

      2. Does the extender appear as an attached device when you check the router (R7500) UI?

      3. Does the issue persist on all devices that connect to the extender?

  • My networks stopped accepting the passwords, so i thought i would restart and now there is absolutely no "netgear extender" appearing in the wifi. What is going?
