EX8000 Nighthawk Range Extender won't connect to StarLink Wifi Router

I just received my StarLink home Internet kit.

I've installed the unit, and hooked up all of my devices to it.

I have two smart home devices that require a hardwire connection, so I decided I would use my EX8000 Wifi Extender.  My thought was to connect to my StarLink wifi, and then connect the two hardwire devices to the extender.

I've reset the extender, clearing the memory from my old home wifi network.

I connect to the extender, find the StarLink wifi, and go through the setup.  But I'm stuck at Enter your pssword to verify.  There is one wifi, there isn't a 2.4 or 5 from the StarLink wifi.

When I type in the password I just setup for the StarLnik wifi, the Nighthawk App tells me that it is the "Incorrect Password"

I've tried selecting just the 2.4, and just the 5, and both.  It doesn't matter, the Nighthawk just keeps telling me that I have entered the "Incorrect Password"

Is this a known bug, and issue with the Nighthawk Extender?

PLEASE HELP.

Thanks,

Not many people with starlink. Your the first I've seen.

Are you using any special characters in your starlink ssid/password? If so, try removing them.

did you contact startlink to see if there's any special features/settings that need to be changed to connect an extender?

Again, sadly, there's not much experience with starlink or their router setup.

No special characters, and all of my wifi devices connected just fine.

The Starlink website indicates that the wifi is both 2.4 and 5, but doesn't have separate "names" for both.

When I first connected my PC to the wifi, it did pop up a screen indicating that the wifi had the latest security protection.

Is there an update for the nighthawk extender that I need to download to make it work?

        Unknown.

As far as I know, the starlink routers are based off openwrt which works fine with the EX8000.

Are you setting it up using wps or using the installation assistant?

what firmware are you on for the EX8000
