Extender ac2200 ex7300
Wtf after the update now my extender broke it just flashing you cant even reset it. There is nothing you can do. Smh netgear

happened to me as well. I cant really believe this is happening these days. A legitimate upgrade from netgear and it bricked the device. I'm surprised there is not a flood of people complaining.
anyway, after an hour of trying, I did the following:
install tftp on your linux.
hooked it to a linux machine
assign local ip (e.g. 192.168.1.10), set the routing to have default gw 192.168.1.1
open wireshark, see the traffic
update arp cache with the mac address of the device and ip 192.168.1.1. it helped, since for some reason arp response from the device was broken.
download the binary from netgear.
reset device to factory default. there is a pinhole to do it. it took me some time to get it right.
i think eventually what worked is pushing the power while pressing this reset tiny hole.
tftp the binary to the device.
software is doomed. no kidding. everything is broken. minimal testing. the most important part for companies is to get things out of the door before competitors. even if it's low quality.
