Extender password unaccepted

I plugged my new WN1000RP in and tried to connect but keeps telling me my password is incorrect. I am entering it correctly. Why won't it accept
  • Thanks Darren. I finally got it going by doing what the idiot sheet told me to in first place but hadn't read it properly!! Plugged it in right next to the modem (which is in building next door) and it connected automatically. My problem was being the second extender on the system the first had .ext and mine was .EXT but when I first tried it away from the modem it came up .ext.EXT so wasn't recognised. Anyway all Good now. Thanks and Merry Christmas!!!

    Hello Gwyny

Try using your main routers password or connect to your main router and go to www.mywifiext.net login with admin/password then go to the wireless settings and try to change the password again.

  • Hi Darren
I tried that. Password was "incorrect" although I entered carefully several times. Couldn't get onto that site and troubleshooting forum gave suggestions but nothing seems to work. The site isn't a real site and I can't use .com instead of .net because it tells me YOU ARE NOT CONNECTED TO YOUR EXTENDER’S WIFI NETWORK. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CURRENT CONNECTION AND TRY AGAIN. So I'm going round in circles!!!
  • I'm trying to connect on my iPhone but safari can't find that my wifiext.net site.
  • This is the second extender I'm trying to connect to main router. The first has the routers network name ending with .ext and this 2nd one ends with .ext.EXT.
Is this causing a problem do you think?

      Hello Gwyny

The other way you  can try to connect to the extender is on your main pc log into your router then go the that attached devices then find the ip address of the extender. After you got the ip address put that into your web browser and that should prompt the login.

I'm a bit slow today Darren, about as slow as my laptop! What do you mean by log into my router? I'm using Windows 10 and if I click on the wifi icon lower right of screen and the wifi options come up which show I'm connected how do I then log into it and find attached devices?
