GS208v2 and AC750 wifi range extender (EX3700) issues
OK - my set up has been working for years without any issues and over the last 6 months connection has started dropping out and being very unreliable. Running a GS208v2 switch through the wired cat 5 in my house and at the bottom of the house using a AC750 wifi Range Extender (EX3700) in Access Point mode.
Things work fine but after a day - or an hour - sometimes the connection goes and I have to turn the switch off and on again to reestablish connection and is SO ANNOYING! I've checked all the hardware configurations and they're fine (and have worked well for 2 years) until the last 6 months.
I've no idea what's going on. Running 2 x Macbook pro and various ipads and iphones within the house.
Any help or idea what's going on would be HUGELY appreciated. Thanks

so the easy way to test it?
Move the switch and the extender to where the router is. Use 2x known good cables (one to the switch, other to the extender) to connect them. See if it works/stays stable. This prevents issues of wiring within the walls/ends from being the issue.
If it doesn't, then try connecting the extender directly to the router and seeing if the extender stays stable. If it does, its the switch. If it doesn't, its the extender.
the goal is to figure out which one is the issue

Great! Thanks for that. Onto it.
- nmh1881AspirantSeems like switch is ok but extender is again intermittent. Would the fact that I’ve upgraded to fibre optic broadband be relevant? My average seeped is 60mbps now and the EX3700 only accommodates 20mbps??

A couple things you could try.
1. set the extender with a static ip address within your router
2. reinstall the firmware on the extender (maybe its corrupt), factory reset it, and then reinstall it.
is it only a certain band thats intermittent or do both drop?
