Hello oviedowinegirl,
Welcome to the community!
If it had beed reset to factory the settings of the device will be deleted and go back to default. What is the model number of your wireless extender? You'll probably need to reconfigure it, I hope you could remember the SSID, passphrase and security type.
Thanks,
