High current draw

My router draws 9 amps at 19 vdc, isn’t that a very high current load??? The unit works fine, but is warm to the touch. Any thoughts?????

How are you testing this? Be specific.

the r8000p power supply is only rated to 3.16a with a max output of 60 watt.

If its pulling 9 amps its putting out 171 watts. that power supply should be cooking hot and fried.

I am running off of a 24 volt forklift battery. I am not using the plug in power supply. I am off the grid. I selected the number of power cells that give me 19.4 volts dc. T have a power meter that shows the amperage at 9.2 amps.

178.5 Watts? This device must cook and become very hot...
