How do I connect my WN3000RP to my Sky Broadband NetGear Router

I am having trouble getting my WN3000RP Range Extender to connect to my SkyBroadband NetGear Router. There is no WPS button so that option is no good. I don't have a wireless network manager on my PC that I know of either. My PC uses Windows XP and all I want is for the extender to pick up the router signal and extended it into a dead zone in my house. If anyone knows how to get these two products communicating I'd be very grateful for any advice.

  • You are not alone. I don't have a wps button either. The WN3000RP manual says to "join the NETGEAR_EXT wireless netowrk" without giving the slightest clue as to how one does that. Then, under MANUAL CONNECTION it mentions a "Smart Wizard" without saying how to access that. Then it mentions "www.mywifiext.net". THERE IS NO SUCH SITE! A google search shows others equally puzzled by that.
Can anyone explain how to use this?
  • Hi,

You need some sort of wireless device to connect to the extender in the first instance. For example if you have an iphone or ipad etc search for wifi connections. You will find one called NETEXTENDER_EXT then try and connect to that wifi network the smart wizard will automatically start up.

You cannot connect to www.mywifiext.net from your desktop. That is the address you use once you have connected the wireless device. Once you connect your iphone/pad etc you will be able to browse to www.mywifiext.net from any device that is connected to the extender.

    Hope that helps?

    Cheers
  • should be simple setup if you follow the instruction

pc with ethernet cable to the extender and setup. should take few minutes to join the existing network .
