Your screen shot tells me that you are trying to browse to http://www.mywifiext.net when you are connected to your router's network. You need to first connect to the extender's network.  One way to do that is to connect the Mac to the extender via the extender's ethernet port (if it has one).  Another is to reset the extender with a paper clip without pressing WPS, and join the NETGEAR_EXT network (which has no password), and then browse to http://www.mywifiext.net.

There are a couple of related scenarios

    1. A PC with both ethernet and wifi, that is connected to the router network over ethernet and the extender network over wifi.  Usually the ethernet network would have priority.  So you'd need to temporarily disconnect the ethernet cable in that case.
    2. A mobile device with a cellular data connection and a wifi connection to the extender network.  If the extender can't reach the internet (due to incomplete setup) the mobile device might be using the cellular data connection.  You'd need to temporarily disable the data connection in this case.
