Installation of WN3000RP Using Ethernet Cable

You need a range extender that supports AP (Access Point) Mode. It seems that WN3000RPv3 supports it. I'm not sure about the older versions.
Any other Netgear range extender will work, except for the EX6120 and EX2700. Check the online manual to be sure.
A router will also work. Some models have an AP Mode setting for easy setup. Those that don't can still be used by disabling the DHCP Server and connecting through a LAN port.
