Hi KrisStarling,
The extenders listed above are home products that are available through vendors such as Amazon.
The WN25000RP will not function properly when ethernet to router. However the extenders listed above will connect ethernet to router when set to access point.
Please see page 23 of 86. http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WN2500RPV2/WN2500RPv2_UM_28May2014.pdf
The enclosure might work depending on thickness.

My NetGear Repeater/Extender (WN2500RP) is connected to my Base Router (NetGear N600 WNDR3400) via Wifi. If I could connect a second (2) Repeater/Extender (WN2500RP) via Cat 5 through one of the four ports provided on the first (1) Repeater/Extender that would be awesome. I could run about 50' of Cat 5 out onto my carport and put the second (2) Repeater/Extender in a plexi-glass box just inside the carport. That would place this Repeater/Extender within 75 ' of the pool area with direct sight.
Who could officially let me know if the second Repeater/Extender to be used this way? Would like to know before purchasing the second Netgear Repeater/Extender.
Thanks
Kris

As suggested by TheEther, it isn't recommended to daisy-chain extenders.

A solution is to ethernet wire the first extender into the router and set that extender to access point mode. You can then wire from the first extender (access point mode) to the second extender (which is set to extender mode).
If the router and rooms are all within the same electrical circuit, you might consider NETGEAR powerlines.

Awesome - This looks like the way to go. So I am very clear... You are saying my existing NetGear Repeater/Extender (WN2500RP) has the ability to be set through software configuration to perform as an Access Point as long as it is hard wired (Cat 5) from the Base Router?
Once this is set up I can then add a (new) second NetGear Repeater/Extender (WN2500RP) further away from the base router. Would I need to hard wire (Cat 5) the second NetGear Repeater/Extender (WN2500RP) from the first NetGear Repeater/Extender (WN2500RP)?? OR can the second NetGear Repeater/Extender (WN2500RP) be Wifi wireless from the First NetGear Repeater/Extender (WN2500RP)??
Once that is set up I can then hopfully connect wireless (Wifi) from the pool area which will be approx 60 ' away.
For the second NetGear Repeater/Extender (WN2500RP) I am planning on making a plexiglass box that would be mounted under the carport out of the weather but in direct view of the pool area. Should I have any issues with the plexiglass enclosure. will be ventilated.
Thanks
Kris

Hi KrisStarling,
I've verified that the WN2500RP does not have an access point mode to wire connect to a router.
However, there are extenders such as the EX3700, EX6100, EX6200 which can act as extender or access point.

Can the NetGear WN2500RP Extender be hardwired back to the Router? I think yes but just verifying. If so I could wire it with Cat 5 out to 250' approx under my carport. If the extender is on the carport I think it will cover the part of my house I need it in and reach out to the pool area? I tried putting the extender under the carport originally and connect back to the router via the Wifi cionnection but the signal was to low for the extender to grab. Also did you have any info about how the extender would work if in a plexiglass enclosure signal wise. Would have ventelation.
