modify WLAN-channel | EX6200

Hi Folks,

i am looking to modify the wifi channel, but i can't see any possibility to do that. When i am in setup of my range extender (WLAN ->Setup), the button for Wifi-channel(2,4GHz) is grey so i can't modify the channel. In 5GHz-Mode i can modify, but why not in 2,4GHz-mode?

I have downloaded the app called Wifi Analytics, inside this app i can see, which channels are overloaded and which aren't use as mch. But also there i can't modify anything concerning the channel.

so, is it possible to do so? Please give me a hint. Are the knows issues about this case?

Our Setup:

Speedport(Vdsl-Router -> EX6200 and another EX6200 (both configurated as Repeater, NOT Access Point)

Windows-Machines (Notebooks, Smartphones)

EX6200-Firmware: up-to-date (can't see the version in web-frontend - why?? )

Thanks,

    Hey!

I've now modified the Wifi-channel of myspeedport v724v typeA to channel 9 and this channel was taken over by EX6200. So, it seems, that the extender have to use the same channel as the router...somehow logical :)

    thanks!

Well, another short question: why i cannot see the 5GHz-Wifi, when searching through existing Wifi's? Do i have to have a special Wifi-Adapter in the computers? I tested both windows and mac-Machines. Only Mac shows the high-performance-Wifi..PCs can't show 5GHz. (Yes, i have turned it off as i wrote i the last post, but i just tested it now, and it seems that there is no 5GHz-Connection possible?

     My Wifi-Adapter: Realtek RTL8723BE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

    Thanks in advance

  • Do you, perhaps, have FastLane turned on?  FastLane will dedicate an entire band (e.g. 2.4 GHz) to connecting with the router and must use the channel as the router.  You will need to either change the channel on the router or turn off FastLane.

      Hey!

      Thanks for the fast answer!

Nope, Fastlane is off. Extender works in basic mode. Furthermore I have turned off the 5GHz-Option, because this signal is not stable. 2,4Ghz works stable in these rooms..

So, i check my speedport-router for another channel. I will report, then :)

      thanks!
