Multiple issues with my EX6150v2 Wifi range extender

Hi,

Recently I ve being trying to determine why my Netgear (EX6150v2) wifi range extender keeps cutting out.Current firmware v1.0.1.70. So far Ive found the following:

1. Its unable to dectect my 5Ghz SSID I ve tried these following methods:

     - Manually entering the SSID and password

    - Downgrading to previous firmware (V1.0.1.54)

    - Rebooting the extender and modem

     - Factory reset on my extender twice.

2. Cutting out / dropping out whilst web browsering and streaming

Any help on this would be great.

Cheers.

    Hi Strayan_Bass,

    Welcome to the community!

    1. To confirm, the extender is unable to detect the 5GHz signal from your main modem-router/router, correct?

    2. What is the model of your router/modem-router?

    3. Have you tried moving the extender closer to the router/modem-router?

    4. Do you have other devices that can detect the 5GHz band of the main network?

    5. Was it able to detect it before?

    6. When it drops, do you lose the signal from the extender completely or just the Internet connection?

    Regards,

      Hi Dexter,

I tried all those methods. I'm unable to obtain any 5Ghz signals from my netgear extender even having plugged in near my modem.

It only loses the internet but still broadcasts 2.4Ghz signal with an error " no Internet " on multiple devices.

My modem is a Huawei HG659 but it is able to broadcast / connect to both to my all my devices on both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. Apart from my range extender.
