My EX7000 is outputting inconsistent speeds

Setup:
Netgear Nighthawk X10 in my master bedroom.

Netgear EX7000 in living room with tv, Apple TV, Xbox, PlayStation, satellite box all hardwired to my ex7000.

Cox internet with 150mbps package.

I recently purchased my nighthawk x10 to help solve my wifi/connection issues and connected to my wifi range extender using "fast lane technology". In the first days it seemed to have solved my issues when downloading big game files but as of late it's only averaging 10mbps down and 3mbps up.... before it was giving me around 150mbps down and 15mbps up. I've logged into the setting n configured everything according to the manual and it's seems to be no use. I previously had the nighthawk 1900 connected to the range extender and experienced the same problems which is why I bought the X10 to see if it would solve my problems but it hasent. I would like everything hardwired because it's the best way to get the best out of my connection when gaming or downloading large files. someone please help!

I've looked to see if someone has been experiencing the same issues but didn't find anything.

    Hello Murray17

I would make sure you have the latest firmware on both devices and then tried to find the best wireless channel to set the router to so the extender gets the best possible connection.

    Thanks for the reply.

Is there a specific wireless channel that I should assign my router to? I have updated my router to the latest firmware. Also, I've notice about 10 different wifi signals that pop up as suggestions, not sure if that also affects my wireless signal.

    Thanks

You just got to see what wireless channel works best there are app on phones call wifi analytics that can help determine which channel is best Netgear has one on the android app store.
