N300 WN3000RP - Extending from another extender instead of the router.
I am trying to get wifi to the rear of my house from the router which is at the front. I have tried to link the N300 and extend the range from outside the room with the extender, but the wifi is not ...

Have you tried moving the Powerline TP Link to the back of the house? Then you could put the WN3000RP in the middle of the house.
It's generally not advisable to connect a wireless range extender to another wireless range extender because the speed penalty is very high. Each range extender can impose a 50% speed penalty or more due to the need to shuttle Wi-Fi traffic upstream and downstream. Clients connected to the second range extender would experience a 75% speed penalty or more.
On the other hand, your TP Link is actually functioning as a wired Access Point, not a wireless range extender. Both provide Wi-Fi to clients but differ in the manner of connection back to the router. The distinction is subtle but important for performance. You can try connecting your WN3000RP to the TP Link. If the TP Link has an Ethernet port, it would be best to use that to connect to the WN3000RP. Then set up the WN3000RP in Access Point mode. If running an Ethernet cable is inconvenient, then then link the two via Wi-Fi.
A third option is to install a second Powerline adapter in the back of the house. You can get a non-Wi-Fi version and connect the WN3000RP to it.

Thank you for the suggestions.
I am using the powerline in the centre of the house as the router signal does not reach the centre room. A wifi signal here can get through one wall, but not two it would seem. This room is where I use the main pc and require a decent signal.
I have now tried the WN3000RP off the TP Link, but it was a failure.
I think at this point I will have to give this up as not possible.
Thank you anyway.

I have continued to try and resolve this problem now that I have a bit more time. I thought that I would simplify the operation, just in case distance was not the issue. So I thought that I would just check that I could set up the Netgear and use it with the Router, Netgear and a mobile device all in the same room.
I have found that the Netgear, once set up, is not allowing access anywhere to anything. I have followed the instructions for 'Connect with Web Browser Setup' (because following 'Connect to an Existing WiFi Network will not do anything - I deduced that I have to use the second option to set up). The Netgear does show the router during this process. I select the router, I use the password that we use to connect to the router when requested for the password. I see a light indicating Client Link. But that is as far as anything goes.
If I then try to connect to the wifi via the Netgear, with the router, Netgear and mobile device in the same room, there is no internet available. The Client Link illumuniates, but the Router Link does not. Checking my mobile, if I select the Netgear for the wifi, it says that there is an authentification problem.
I have retried the whole process from factory reset a number of times now. I have input password with the password being visible. I can see nothing wrong, it just does not seem to work.
If anyone has an idea I would be grateful
