NETGEAR AC750 WiFi Range Extender (EX3700-100NAS) / Chromecast / Google Home Assistant

I purchased an AC750 WiFi Range Extender Essentials Edition Model EX3700.  I'm trying to install it using the "WPS" method as I use a MacBook Air and not a desktop.  I followed the instructions to a "T", but after is cycles through the setup part that gets the router communicating with the extender, the router ligt fails to come on.  As a result, the extender is NOT installed and does NOT appear on my WiFi options.  Has anyone had this problem?  Can anyone offer suggestions on how to get this to work?  Thanks!

You don't need to use the WPS method with your MacBook Air, so I suggest using the web browser setup method.

Reset the extender, and join the NETGEAR_EXT network.  Then browse to www.mywifiext.net and follow the browser prompts.

    The manual is here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/EX3700/EX3700_UM_EN.pdf

The instructions for what I am suggesting are on page 11 ( Connect with Web Browser Setup )
