NETGEAR EAX80 - connecting with a RS700s router
Hello,
I own both a RS700 Wifi7 router and a EAX80 Wifi 6 wifi extender.
The router works well, located on ground floor.
Unfortunately, I have a Apple mac desktop on 2nd floor with WIFI5, and the speed without extender is horrible: 40mb/s. Router does not get there enough.
My question is: is it possible to use the WIFI6 extender, pairing it with the RS700s to improve data transfer speed? Can the Nightrhawk app handle both devices? Is there a specific setup to complete? Should I dump the RS700s and go for a Orbi 970 solution (way more expensive for sure)? or even for a Wifi6E USB key listed below?
Thanks for any support you could bring. Netgear tech team did not want to answer as my purchase of EAX80 was considered too old (2021).
Regards,
Cyril

The EAX should connect fine to the RS, just won't get any 6Ghz or WiFi7 support thru the EAX. You should get both 2.4 and 5ghz signals thru though.
The NH app can handle both RS and EAX units. Just a switch with in the app to select the other device when you need it to connect it to either device.

Thanks a lot, pairing the 2 is my fear, but since I survived RS700s setup via the app, I shoul dbe able t survive if I can switch devices.
Wil let you know if it worked, and thanks again (especially if it enables me NOT to go to ORbi solution...)

Use the menu feature on the NH app and top section is what the NH app is connected too. Select this here and you'll see a list of devices you have the NH app connected too. You can select here back and forth.
