NetGear WiFi Range Extender AC1200

Question

I seperate SSID;s and seperate passwords:

2.4 GHz SSID:Wireless network name (SSID): FancyPine_2GEXT
5 GHz SSID:Wireless network name (SSID): FancyPine_5GEXT

Yet the extender will not the 5GHZ

I have the Windows Netgear Genie and the NetGear Analizer apps, but do not see how to specify that the extender use the 5GHZ band

What is your main router that the extender is connecting to?

I can see the 2.4 but I can't see the 5GHZ band.

Both bands have seperate passwords and names.

My router:

Belkin's Linksys EA6900, AC1900
Dual Band Smart Wi-Fi, 2.4 - 5 GHz
Broadcom TurboQAM Wi-Fi chip
Dual-Core 800MHz processor
802.11ac router

Try to put the 5Gz on the router to a lower channel then see if the 5Ghz will show up.

NetGear Genie shows that the NetGear extender AC1200, is disconnecting from the internet daily and I have to click the connect button in the Genie app to reconnect it.Should I re-install the extender?

Darren, I decided to go ahead and look into this, while I have the time.In the LinkSys router, I can't see where I can assign the channels.In the NetGear Genie, I don't see any settings either. So, is this a manual setting on the AC1200 extender? If so. Ill have to wait till I get back home to set it.Thanks
