Nighthawk AC1900 Model R7000 Won't connect to Technicolor router
Hi,
Just tried to connect my router (Technicolor TG788vn v2) to my brandnew NETGEAR Nighthawk AC 1900 Range Extender (EX7000). OS:Windows 8.1.
The connection is allright using WPS on the extender and WPS on the router - and I can see the extender on the list of available networks. But when I am prompted for the password to the network the extender won't acccept. I'm using the Wifi router password to connect. I have tried to reset the router and used the original password - no luck.
Any clues?
Best,
Bombadil

Hello Bombadil
Are you using WPa2-psk as the security type on your router? you may want to try a different security type and see if the password will work. Also you may want to factory reset the EX7000 and try to go threw the setup again.

if you are using wireless ACL on the base router, then you will have issues, as the range extender virtual mac's will cause ACL issues. You would be better setting up the EX7000 as an Access Point, idf you can run an ethernet cable between your base router and EX7000.
