Sorry, I’m awful with tech. Don’t mean connect using an Ethernet cable between the laptop and the extender?
Just to say, the extender is working via the WPS but I just have no visibility of it on the app. Was hoping it was just include all connected devices between the router and extender in one place on the app.

Yes, I set my EAX80 up using a wired PC and web browser to get the EAX to connect to the RS. Once it was connected. Then the NH mobile app found it under Network Map and accessed the EAX there. Do you see this Network Map tile on the Nighthawk mobile app?
