Only one question... Is it impossible...
Hi to all,
i bought this product to extend wifi coverage.
My current setup is a modem router DG834Gv3 configured in wds Bridging point to point wireless with other two access point WG602 so i've to use wep and speed wifi 54mbs.
now the problem... I had to use the wifi channell 13 because the channell 11 was used a lot in my area.
Is it true that the product WN1000RP can ONLY connect to athoer wifi that use ONLY channell 11 ?!?
Thanks a lot for any questions concerning.
Thanks.

- RCW41NoviceBefore mine stopped working properly it connected to my router which is set to channel 6 with no problems at all so doesn't have to be default channel.
- spikerzAspirantCould i have clarification about it and why have you not corrected this problem?!?
Thank you.
I've always got on well with the netgear but this situation is intolerable. i'm Not being able to use a product purchased cause the factory default setting can not be changed by the end user.
Compliments. - spikerzAspirantIn fact, the problem is if you use channel 12 or 13 !!
Doesn't support these two channels !!
And there isn't the possibility to change it !! - fordemMentorIf you're using channels 12 & 13, YOU may be the problem - the reasons channels 12 & 13 are not supported is that they are not approved for use in North America, so it sounds like you're either using a mix of equipment (meaning that you've purchased equipment not intended for use in your country) or a mix of firmware.
It's also worth noting that using channels 12 & 13 because of congestion on channel 11 is not a solution - there are three "non-overlapping" channels - 1, 6, & 11 - channels 12 & 13 overlap with channel 11 (and vice versa) so the interference caused by the congestion still exists. - spikerzAspirantI use channell 12 and 13 because i am in Europe. The channell 11 is full because it is many use in my area !!
Your solution is to use the channell 1 or 6 ?!? - fordemMentorLet's see if I get this right - you're in Europe where channels 12 & 13 are permissible, your router supports them, but your extender does not? Are you using a European market extender?
To answer your question, which ever channel you use overlaps (and interferes with) two channels above, two channels below - so, channel 1 overlaps 2 & 3, channel 6 overlaps channels 4,5,7 & 8, channel 11 overlaps 9, 10, 12 & 13.
What you do is choose the least congested of channels 1, 6 or 11 because any other choice will be affected by the overlap. - FairytailVirtuosoWhere did you purchase the extender?most likely the extender has the North America FW which is only limited to channel upto channel 11. That would be the reason why you are unable to connect to the channel 13.
