Options to extend wifi to detached shop
I'm wanting to get wifi to my detached shop (brick) that is about 50 feet from the garage that is attached to my house (brick). I have an RBS50 on the side of the house closest to the garage. The RBR50 is in the front of the house in the office. The house is approx 2,100 sq ft. I have great wifi coverage throughout the house and in the backyard for 2 Sonos speakers on the far side of the pool and and outside TV to use with a Roku device. I cannot get a consistent wifi signal in the detached shop to be able to stream on the Roku in the detached shop and in most cases, the wifi signal isn't recognized in the detached shop.
I've moved the RBS50 into the house garage and into other areas which puts the RBS50 closer to the detatched shop but still cannot get a strong enough signal to stream to that Roku device or even on an iOS device.
Are the options to use a Nighthawk exntender better than getting another RBS50 and daisy chaining them and will either option be able to get a significant enough signal through the brick walls etc to the detatched shop? Or is a better option to get the RBS50Y and connect that to the outside of the house in between the house garage and the detached shop? I'm not sure if either option (extender or RBS50Y) will be able to get close enough to the RBS50 for a good signal for daisy chaining.
Lastly, is it best to upgrade the entire system to the RBK43?
Thanks for your help.

the 50 series has a better backhaul than the 40 series. so it wouldn't be an upgrade to switch to the 40 series.
Your best bet? run an underground rated ethernet connection to the garage.
Reason why is brick is one of the best blockers of wifi. I'm actually impressed that you're getting a signal outdoors from an interior satellite. usually it blocks enough that it isn't a useful signal. Maybe it works because its only streaming music which doesn't take much bandwidth.

ok, if I run the underground rated ethernet to the shop, what would you recommend for a WAP?

If you're already using an orbi system, you can just hardwire in a satellite in the garage. That'll keep the system seamless.

I have a similar question,
I have an EX2700 extender in my house garage and would like to connect to another EX2700 in a detached shop. Can this be a hardwired ethernet connection? I already have the wire run to the shop.
Thanks

The EX2700 doesn't have access point mode. That's the mode that'd allow you to hardwire it to your router.

Thanks, any suggestions on a hardware combo to achieve this?
Do I just need a different extender with access point capability for the garage and move the EX2700 to the shop?
Thanks
Jeff
