Plugging Powerline into an outlet splitter
I have a standard duplex wall outlet. I have a 4 plug outlet splitter/adapter plugged into it.
I know the Powerline directions say not to plug the Powerline unit into an extension cord or power strip.
Does this prohibition also apply to the outlet splitter? If it does, why not?
Thank you for any help.

The concern overall is that the extension cord or splitter will reduce the performance of the powerline network. A surge protector or UPS will have a bigger effect than a simple extension cord or an outlet splitter, since they are filtering the powerline. I doubt you'll see any issue with the splitter - I've tested a couple powerline devices using them, and I didn't see any performance problems.
It's safe to connect up the powerline that way, so maybe try it and see if you get good enough speeds.
