Problems connecting to NETGEAR Wi-Fi Range Extender EX2700

Hi,

I've been able to pair the extender with my PlusNet router no problem (using WPS button); however, I'm unable to connect to the extender...tried several phones and an iPad...could see the extender but when connecting, kept saying the p/w (same as router) was incorrect...

Can anyone advise on a solution beforer I return the item?

TiA, Tony

  • Oh my days...I've done it..!  ...Using the ethernet cable from the PC to the extender and connected the PC to the router via wi-fi...  I wish I'd known that before as it was pretty straightforward via that route. Phew!

    Thanks for your help!

try factory resetting the extender and re-running the setup using the installation wizard.

Wps doesn't always work well between different manufacturer's which is where there's the installation assistant.

Hi, thanks for suggestion but can't get this to work...

      Just to clarify...

      - extender sees my router and creates a netwk with _ext at the end

      - My iPhone (tried a 5 and a 6s)  sees the netwk in settings/Wi-Fi

      - I try to connect to to it using the same p/w as my router

      - it rejects the password

      - I go to the my wifi ext URL (this post won't let me type the full address) from a browser (as recommended) on my phone but my model is not listed

      - So I can't run the installation wizard

      - If i try to tap the suggested iOS URL on the above page, I just get a blank page

What am I doing wrong, please?

        worst case scenario?

factory reset the extender, hardwire into it via a laptop/pc for setup.

        It tends to go smoother.
