R700 and EX600
I have ATT Uverse and do not want to depend on their wifi router. I cannot put the Uverse router in bridge mode (that I'm aware of) so I have the Nighthawk plugged into the Uverse Router and Nighthawk is in bridge mode. I am just using it's wifi connection. I hooked up my EX600 upstairs to boost my signal and get my media room up and running. I have both 2G and 5G turned on for both connections. I have
NETGEAR08
NETGEAR08-5G
NETGEAR08_2GEXT (EX600)
NETGEAR08_5GEXT (EX600)
Can I combine the 2G and 5G SSID without causing problems? I would prefer to have 2 connections in my home, not 4. I'm even thinking about adding a 2nd EX600 and I'm assuming that would make 2 more networks (needing the wired features of the EX600 in my office).
What do y'all think?
TIA

You meant the AP mode?Can I combine the 2G and 5G SSID without causing problems? I would prefer to have 2 connections in my home, not 4. I'm even thinking about adding a 2nd EX600 and I'm assuming that would make 2 more networks (needing the wired features of the EX600 in my office).
You can use same SSID on each band on your R7000 and have your extender _ext SSID to be same should be final... You can add more extender joint the network but do connect behind the extender back to back. That may works but also may also cause throughput.
You can keep the throughput to on single extender to main router will fast lane for performance but I would not suggest back to back.
NETGEAR08
NETGEAR08-5G - russellmoran99LuminarySo sorry - EX6200 - not sure how to modify my original post.
- russellmoran99LuminaryAnd the R7000 - (it's late here, sorry guys)
- russellmoran99LuminaryThat is great, I did what you said and now have only the 2G and 5G networks. It seems to be working, but now having another issue. My iphones are having a hard time on the network. They will connect, but it's VERY slow. I did a speed test and it said 1KB and sometimes no internet connection at all. It's ONLY happening to my iphones that I've noticed so far. I have iphone 5.
When I go to a laptop, and connect to same network, it's running 14MG Down and 5MB Up. Go back to iPhone and it's almost no network. It shows Full connection on the wifi indicator, but it just doesn't go anywhere.
Any suggestions? - russellmoran99Luminary

What does fast lane performance do? I have not enabled that to my knowledge. Do you recommend that? If so, what configuration do you recommend? - jmizoguchiVirtuososupport.netge.com and search fast lane..
When you have repeated devices and moving in the range wifi device can continue to use use one AP and not able to hop to other AP in a instant so therefore possible that is happening. Usually roaming like this is happens automatic and not user setting - storm_2003NoviceFastLane Technology offers maximum Wi-Fi performance. It provides high-speed Wi-Fi with a dedicated band connecting the extender and the Wi-Fi device, and a second band connecting the extender and the Wi-Fi router. FastLane Technology is ideal for HD gaming and HD video streaming.
================================================================
Note: If all your devices and your Wi-Fi router support only the 2.4 GHz band, or all your devices and your Wi-Fi router support only the 5 GHz band, do not enable FastLane Technology.
================================================================
When you enable FastLane Technology, you have two options:
•Use the 2.4 GHz band to connect the extender to the Wi-Fi devices and use the 5 GHz band to connect the extender to the Wi-Fi router. Use this mode if your Wi-Fi router supports the 5 GHz band but the devices that you want to use for gaming and streaming support the 2.4 GHz band.
