I have had this Extender or a year now, no problems. It stopped working a couple of days ago. I have My sonos hooked directly into the extender, the base router is an Arris from my ISP. I have reset the extender and router, I cannot access the extender on line via mywifinext.net- it will not work, I logged into my Arris Router and I don not see my Extender Listed. Any help would be appreciated....834Views0likes1CommentFastlane: Iis it all its cracked up to be?
I have an EX6200. Been using it the conventional way for ages. Wondering if I should change to "fastlane"? Is it all tis cracked up to be? What are your impressions? I know one cannot specify a channel to use unless its in fastlane and that is a plus but does fastlane actually improve speed and capacity etc?2.7KViews0likes1CommentEX6200 - cannot get internet connection via wifi
Hi - we upgraded to the BTHub6, and now our EX6200 wont allow us to connect to it via wifi We can see the extender in the BT home hub admin console, but cannot change any details (e.g. static IP is used rather than DHCP) We can see the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks in the wifi list from a laptop, tablet or phone BUT when trying to connect (password is accepted) - but says 'no internet connection' I cannot connect via mywifiext.net .... or the IP address 198.168.1.250 I have tried ethernet from the BThub to the router. It says found, but no congifg page available so I can see any settings. Any help appreciated - thank you4.2KViews0likes2CommentsEX6200 Wireless Extender won't connect to Asus RT-AC68U
I am having trouble extending my Asus RT-AC68U router. My security is WPA2 Personal AES on the router. The Netgear sees the network easily enough but fails to connect either at 2G or 5G. The message is only that it "failed to connect". The range is close. I am at a loss as to what I might do. The setup said something about entering the 6200's mac addresses, but I don't see where I might add those or if it is even needed... I do get this message on the ASUS The WAN IP is not the external IP. External IP-based services will not work. But I'm not trying to create a WAN, so I'm not sure if that is relevant. Any help greatly appreciated5.6KViews0likes1CommentEX6200 Extender keeps kicking computers off with 'IP configuation' errors
My Equpment: Modem: Franklin Wireless R850 4g LTE Mifi Device with Sprint service (no ethernet or USB ports) Extender: Netgear EX6200 (firmware version V1.0.3.74_1.1.109) Connected Devices: 1 desktop, 1 home theater PC, 2 laptops, , 1 home server, 1 blu-ray drive, 1 printer, 1 receiver My Desired Setup: The only thing fed directly from the modem (via Wifi) should be the extender. The extender serves everything else in the house. Most items can connect via wifi with the exception of the desktop and the server. These are connected to the extender via ethernet (the home theater pc, blu-ray, printer, receiver, and one of the laptops is actually connected via ethernet as well to make faster in-house connections). The Issue: This is likely stemming from my complete ignorance when it comes to networking, but the wifi and the ethernet-connected devices are randomly getting kicked of the internet with "IP configuration" errors. I have reset the modem (quite a few times) and the extender (also quite a few times). Often this fixes the issue, but this happens at least five times each day - an annoyance I am not willing to deal with. I have done a factory reset, been on the phone with tech support, etc. I am currently just back to using the modem without the extender and have not had any issues. I tried everything for about three weeks with the factory defaults on the modem and the extender (except for username and passwords). The issue persisted. I then tried giving the extender a static IP address. I thought this fixed it, but the issue popped its ugly head up after six hours. I have turned off DHCP on the modem... no luck (it's now back on). I'm stumped... anyone? Thanks ahead of time, Roy3.5KViews0likes1CommentPLEASE HELP ME! Can't connect to VPN via WiFi Range Extender
I am trying to connect to connect to my work VPN via my Netgear EX6200 WiFi Range Extender. It connects but doesn't allow me to connect to any of my drives. I was told by my IT department that I do have an IP address so they did verify that I was connected but that is as far as I can get. It is the same result reguardless if I am wired to it or on WiFi. The VPN does work perfectly if I connect either wired or through WiFi via my router (Netgear WNDR3400). There aren't a lot of settings to change on the EX6200 and I feel like I have changed every combination without any success. Both the ex6200 and the wndr3400 have the latest firmware. I unfortunately don't know anymore information about my VPN other than what I have provided. Thank you ahead of time for any help you can offer! :-)5.6KViews0likes1CommentEX6200 Wifi visible but cannot connect

In tears here with this thing. I've hardly used this machine: it's been sat safely on a shelf for a year. I managed to get it working a few weeks ago after hours of faffing, only to turn it off at the wall (I don't want things left on in my room at night, so I can't see how this should be a problem) and for it to not work anymore. I made no changes to my BT network on the BT hub5 during that time--didn't even turn it off. It never worked as it says in the book/ the 5ghz light only lit now and then, even when I was connecting to it. This happened on two machines as I returned the first, so i assumed it was my fault and never got round to conatcing support or getting my money back in warranty as I was away. Now it won't reset using the pinhole button. I've turned it on and off, unplugged it for 10 minutes, plugged it into the Mac and the wifi router following vcarious directions on here. Its frozn with the numbers 1-5 lit up. Nothing else happens. These are on even without an ethernet cable in a port. I'm at my wits end here. i spemt £100 on this thing and its never worked properly. I cant reset it using the online method as the router wont even light up or connect. help! :-(3.8KViews0likes1CommentR7000>EX6200 Antenna Replacement
So i have a R7000(2dBi) & EX6200(5dBi). [Distance: 160'+ / through woods and brick walls | running a cat cable is not financially suitable] I have my extender configured with fastlane technology: router>2.4gHz | end-device>5gHz sidenote: How can I configure what channel from the extender side (2.4) to router (2.4) i am broadcasting on, so that it can match with the channel on the router side? Or does the extender side recognize the channel the router is already broadcasting on and select that as the appropriate channel? I want to replace one antenna on each end with a 13dbi yagi wireless high gain booster directional antenna rp-sma inside to keep safe from the elements and direct towards the opposite to get a better connection. Would this create a better connection in order to acheive a greater download speed? Is it possible to run two dual-band and one 2.4gHz yagi antenna(s) on the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 | one yagi/omni on the Netgear Wi-fi Extender EX6200?5KViews0likes2CommentsWifi Extender Limited Number of Connections, Devices Dropping, EX6200
So I currently have my EX6200 setup with my cable provider router. I have 2 issues: 1.) I was able to achieve, using the smart setup (2.5GHz to router, 5GHz with devices) get something like 53MPs/6MPs u/d before I updated my firmware, on a service that I typically get 180MPs/10MPs u/d if wire connected to my cable modem directly. So it was good. Now with the latest firmware update, I get 10MPs/5MPs on a good day. Was there a security patch that makes it so slow? Also the firmware update over simplified the menus, now I can't see the details I require. 2.) More related to my worry. I connect to my extender via the 5GHz band with iPads, iPhones, etc. It seems that for some reason, after 1 or 2 days, only 1 or 2 devices can connect to the extender, and the rest of the devices sit there trying to connect at infinium.. never ending. It acts like it does in hotels when the wifi no longer has IP addresses it can issue anymore and needs to be rebooted. So I continually have to reboot power on/off the thing to have the next device to connect to it to work. However it defeats the whole purpose of this exender if it's severly limited in the number of devices that can connect, and I constantly have to reset the dang thing. I'm not talking 10 concurrent devices, but 4-5 should be no issue. What's the problem that I'm not seeing? Is there setting or security issue I need to address? Is there a more advanced menu I can activate, because the default are so simplified I can't find the problem. It's driving me nuts! Appreciate any insight you can provide - more for issue 2, as that's the one wanting me to throw this unit out the window. Details/setup: Hardware Version: EX6200 Firmware Version: V1.0.3.68_1.1.104 Using "Speed" Setup - 2.5GHz to router/modem, 5GHz for devices Password default to modem Security default to modem IP address for Unit dynamically requested from modem Thanks, -ped P.S.
