Setting WN3000RP Range Extender with Same SSID as of Router's

Hi,

I have a DLink Wireless Router & have setup a Netgear WN3000RP Range Extender with it. Currently I'm using the default settings of different SSID's for both the Router & Range Extender. Now I've to cahnge the network SSID depending on which network is having the strongest signal. However, I would like to use the same SSID for both & it should seamlessly connect to the strongest network device when moving around, without any disconnection.

Thanks

But does changing it allow the router and extender to determine which the device is closest to and join that?  I have a similar question and I'm wanting to make it work like I have at work with business class hardware but for home hardware at my house.  When I roam the building at work I'm always connected to the same SSID.  At home, I know which extender I'm connected to but hate having to manually switch but want to make sure that the device will connect to it just fine and overlapping signals won't cause the device to get confused.  For my place, due to the walls and layout I'm going to need multiple extenders and want to ensure its not an issue with all the devices using the same SSID.
