Support Problems
I purchased a Netgear AC750 Range extender. I have not been able to make it work. And I had two calls to support.
Issue: Seems I need to somehow enable non htps in my browser. I can connect to the extender but cannot go further.
I called support. The person took my info, then told me my network was corrupted and I would need to buy a support package for help. He was extremely aggressive with me. I could not get a simple answer to my questions - why I could get to mywifext.net or any other support site. That's all I wanted to know.
FYI I had just moved, and had a brand new Xfinity network router with 2g and 5g, just days old.
He was pushy and insistent that I needed to buy a support package that would correct my system. He said that was why I could not connect.
He said he would call me back after I told him I was interested, and didn't want that, I just wanted some simple answers. He called back anyway.
Several weeks later I tried again .. same problem. when I told the support person I just had a few questions, I was snot interested in a $300 support package, and to please listen to my question, he hung up.
I was in IT consulting for 30 years .. though more as a solution architect. I have never witnessed worse customer support at any time before. I have to or three simple questions to enable my browser to connect to set up .... and could not get either person to listen or respond.
It's a shame that it seems that Netgear is more interested in selling security and support people than providing good service. I had Netgear extenders in my prior home, and had no problems setting them up.
I cannot find any corporate contact to provide feedback. What a mess.
Update: I fixed it by using a different browser that enabled me to get to the installation site .. however, the original call I made was a number in the document provided with the device. All good now ... though it took a while

It sounds like you were talking to someone at a scam support site.

The telephone number was in the documentation in the instructions on in the box. The second time I called was a number on your website

This is a user-to-user forum, and I don't work for Netgear.
Were you using this URL?

How about simply posting those telephone numbers? Could take a picture of those instructions and post it.

It would be really useful to see a screen shot of the error message.
Reason: modern web browsers are almost frantic about attempts to connect to unencrypted web sites (http rather than https) They display alarming messages, "UNSAFE . Go Back!"
And, to be (sort of) fair, unencrypted internet traffic has the potential to be intercepted along the way and inspected by "bad actors". However, this device exists on your private network, where it is nearly impossible for anyone not working for Mission Impossible (movie franchise) to intercept it. These browsers almost always provide a link, perhaps in tiny print, offering "Advanced Information" or something that will provide an option to, "Go to this web site."
p.s. It would also be useful to know the actual model number of this WiFi extender. AC750 is a marketing description of potential speed, not an actual product number.
