The devices connected to my range extender do not show on my router
I currently have it set up as a mesh extender as opposed to an access point. Because the devices I need to connect are wired (a server and my desktop). They are connected through a netgear 5 port “dumb” switch to the extender. The issue is I do not see the server or my desktop on the router (Xfinity xFI) they have been there before because I can see them as previously connected. Also I noticed they get assigned a virtual machine address as opposed to their MAC addresses being forwarded to the router. I thought this was supposed to act as a bridge to the router. Or is that only possible through it being an access point? Any assistance would be/is greatly appreciated thank you!

its the function of how extenders work. Its been discussed on here multiple times as people want the "normal" mac they'd get from their router.

I will never emotionally recover from this... but okay so what confuses me is I see them on my routers interface like it shows they have conncected in the past so thats really what confuses me. But I apologize for asking a question that has been asked before. Thank you for your time!

You didn't put what extender you have but there's a link to the EX6150 which is a mesh extender. Meaning it uses the same ssid as the router. It could be at times your device is connected to the router and at others its connected to the extender. Tough to know 100% with the info we have.
