Trying to troubleshoot Apple TV playback issues
Greetings,
I am not sure I have chosen the right forum. If I have chosen the wrong forum, perhaps an admin can move this post to where it belongs.
Our Netgear product is model #WNDR3400v2.
I have been experiencing some playback issues with our Apple TV 2. Specifically HD movies and TV shows have been stalling and hanging on playback.
Here is what Apple recommends regarding wireless networks in one of their their Apple TV troubleshooting docs (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3623): "To connect Apple TV to your network wirelessly, Apple TV requires a wireless router or Base Station that is 802.11 a, g, or n compatible for streaming video."
Checking the settings on the Apple TV, the signal strength seems fine.
The network I am using is Wireless Network (2.4GHz b/g/n). I was wondering if moving to the 5GHz a/n network would resolve the issue?
If I switch Networks, can I simply swap network names and passwords between the 2 networks so I don't have to reset all my devices currently connected?
Thanks.
